Simplifying Skills library setup for IT admins and increase customer adoption

Context
Skills is an AI-powered enterprise service that helps organizational leaders gain insights into workforce capabilities, identify skill gaps, and deliver personalized skills development experiences across the Microsoft 365 platform.
The Skills Admin Center enables IT admins to set up the Skills library and deploy Skills within their organizations—laying the foundation for driving value and increasing customer adoption.
The problem
The primary goal of this experience is to drive customer adoption. However, a major obstacle in the Skills deployment flow is that many organizations lack an existing skills library and are uncertain about which settings to choose. Additionally, since pilot deployments are not currently supported, IT admins worry that a misconfigured setup could impact all users once deployed.
In late 2023, I led the design of the Skills Admin Center, including the Skills Library setup and skills data management experience for IT admins.
As a result, I streamlined the setup flow, making deployment easier for customers while providing IT admins with clarity, contextual support, and customization options to meet diverse organizational needs.
